The Thursday Ballroom Dancing Club has been successfully run
at the Whitnash Sports & Social Club for over twenty years,
where members have enjoyed Ballroom dancing, Sequence dancing,
Latin dancing and line dancing on a fortnightly basis.
There are currently around 35 regular members, most of whom
are older members of the Club, and it is hoped to attract
younger members in the future who are now learning to dance.
Whilst formal dance lessons are not included,
the club nights offer members the chance to learn the latest
dances by following the more experienced dancers, and it is
also ideal for learner dancers to practice dances they may
have learned at dancing lessons elsewhere.
With a good bar and friendly staff, the Sports & Social Club
provides a relaxed and comfortable environment in which to
enjoy this social evening as an affordable pastime to members
and visitors and is excellent value for money.
Ballroom dancing venues have become fewer and fewer in recent
years, so this facility provides a much-needed venue,
enabling the local community the opportunity to enjoy
ballroom and sequence dancing and a meeting place for a good
social evening.
